Abstract
The authors investigate the optimum values for both the local oscillator (L O) modulation index and the Mach-Zehnder electrooptic bias point to maximiz e the dynamic range of optically amplified harmonic downconverting fiber-op tic links. The results show that the maximum dynamic range is achieved when downconverting through the second harmonic of the LO driving signal.
