Simultaneous bilateral renal pelvic tumors

Background: A 72-year-old man was admitted with gross hematuria. Investigat ions revealed bilateral renal pelvic tumors. Methods/Results: Via a midline incision, left nephroureterectomy with bladd er cuff resection was performed for the large left-sided tumor. The right s mall solitary right-sided tumor was endoscopically resected simultaneously. Histologically, both tumors were grade 2 transitional cell carcinomas with out muscular invasion. Conclusion: There has been no evidence of recurrence or metastasis 30 month s postoperatively.
