Abstract
Based on a previous work [1] where a model was introduced to explain the me chanism of boiling dry out phenomenon. The authors in this paper present so me new results dealing with the effect of experimental parameters. The role of the interfacial instabilities has been clearly shown. The effect of pre ssure on the nature of boiling crisis mechanism has been studied through re coil and thermocapillary instabilities. It is found that at low pressure re coil destabilizing role prevails however at higher pressure Marangoni insta bility dominates the mechanism of boiling crisis. The effect of the additio n of surfactants to boiling liquids is found to be stabilizing which is in good agreement with experimental works showing that the addition of strong surfactant will lead higher critical fluxes. Further investigation of the s urface parameters will certainly lend to the validation of the previously i ntroduced model.
