Abstract
This paper studies the properties of solitary-wave solutions of a particula r fifth-order evolution equation that models water waves with surface tensi on. Existence and nonexistence results are surveyed and strengthened. An ac curate numerical code is devised and used to show the small dispersive effe cts of solitary-wave collisions.
