Abstract
Polyfluorinated oxonium cations RfCH2OCFX+ and acyclic perfluorinated sulfo nium cations RfSCF2+ are prepared by the reaction of corresponding ethers o r sulfides with antimony pentafluoride in SO2ClF solvent and characterized by F-19 and H-1 spectroscopy. Based on experimental data the relative stabi lity of polyfluorinated oxonium cations are determined. (C) 1999 Elsevier S cience S.A. All rights reserved.
