Abstract
The vibronic features of jet-cooled p-ethylaniline, p-ethylaniline-NHD and p-ethylaniline-ND2 near their S-1 <-- S-0 electronic transitions were simul taneously recorded using resonant two-photon ionization time-of-flight mass spectrometry (TOFMS). The present investigations on the frequency shifts p rovide an explicit confirmation for the spectral assignment. Analyses show that most of the observed vibronic transitions involving ring vibrations ar e little influenced by the N-deuteration in p-ethylaniline. Transitions rel ated to the ethyl bending and the amino inversion motions are also observed . (C) 1999 Elsevier Science B.V. All rights reserved.
