Rz. Khan et al., MICROMETEOROLOGICAL MASS-BALANCE TECHNIQUE FOR MEASURING CH4 EMISSIONFROM STORED CATTLE SLURRY, Biology and fertility of soils, 24(4), 1997, pp. 442-444
Methane (CH4) emissions from stored slurry were successfully measured
by a micrometeorological mass balance technique. Emissions during autu
mn to late winter ranged from 2 to 100 kg CH4-C ha(-1) day(-1). Diurna
l variations of CH4 emissions were investigated by measuring emissions
at several times during the day, correlated with slurry temperatures
at 10 cm depth and successfully modelled with the Arrhenius equation.
