Abstract
Heterodonor phosphines [o-(methylthio)phenyl]diphenylphosphine and bis[o-(m ethylthio)phenyl]phenylphosphine react with group 6 metal carbonyls to form chelate complexes with bidentate bonding through P and S atoms. Only Cr(CO )(6) forms also monodentate derivative with [o-(methylthio)phenyl]diphenylp hosphine. The complexes are characterized by X-ray crystallography, H-1-,C- 13-{H-1} and P-31-{H-1}-NMR spectroscopy, IR spectroscopy, and elemental an alyses. (C) 1999 Elsevier Science S.A.
