Abstract
Objectives To evaluate occupational history taking, as a detailed occupatio nal history is the most effective means for proper diagnosis of occupationa l illness. Methods In order to determine the attitudes of 66 physicians working in Dok uz Eylul Medical Faculty Hospital about taking occupational history, 269 pa tient records were examined. Results It was detected that 43.9% of physicians took no occupational histo ry from any of their patients. Occupational history was obtained hom 81.8% of the patients in clinics where standard examination forms were in regular use. Conclusion We found that physicians were not in the habit of taking occupat ional histories.
