Hr. Shea et al., Manipulation of carbon nanotubes and properties of nanotube field-effect transistors and rings, MICROEL ENG, 46(1-4), 1999, pp. 101-104
Using the tip of an atomic force microscope, we have manipulated individual
carbon nanotubes on a patterned substrate, and have fabricated model nanod
evices, including a room temperature field-effect transistor with a channel
only 1.6 nm wide, as well as single-electron transistors. We have also dev
eloped a technique to produce rings of single-wall nanotubes with a very hi
gh yield.
