Abstract
A new paradigm for very-high-density data storage is described which utiliz es a scintillating data-storage medium. Data-storage densities greater than 30 Gb/cm(2), and data read-out rates in excess of 100 Mb/s, are obtainable with this method. Preliminary experimental results are given.
