Abstract
Complete statistical model calculations including temperature- and spin-dep endent theoretical strength functions of the Giant Dipole Resonance (GDR) h ave been performed for the decay of excited Sn-120. Previous analyses of GD R data with theoretical models compared the centroid and FWHM of the theore tical strength functions with the extracted GDR parameters. in the new appr oach presented, the entire shape of the strength functions is considered an d the theoretical spectra obtained can be directly compared with the experi ment.
