Abstract
The HERA-B experiment is designed to study CP violation phenomena in the CP system. The physical program of the HERA-B detector includes the measureme nts of CP asymmetries in B-d --> J/psi K-s(0) and B-d --> pi(+)pi(-) decay channels, search for direct CP violation phenomena and many other items. An overview of detector and trigger technologies, the current status of the d etector and the experience gained during the test runs is reported.
