Supersymmetric transformations allow eliminating forbidden bound states fro
m a potential without affecting its scattering properties. They are applied
to the core-neutron potential in a three-body model of the He-6, Li-11 and
Be-14 halo nuclei and compared with the pseudo-potential method. The super
symmetric approach provides larger binding energies and smaller radii for t
hese three nuclei. When the core-neutron interaction is readjusted to fit t
he experimental binding energy, the radii of the halo nuclei obtained with
the two methods become very close. The Be-14 wave function qualitatively di
ffers in both approaches. (C) 1999 Elsevier Science B.V. All rights reserve
