Abstract
A simple pneumatic pressure attachment has been designed and fabricated for Mao-Bell and National Bureau of Standard type diamond anvil cells (DACs). The assembly can be fitted to the lever arm of the DAC for applying pressur e on the diamonds and the pressure at the sample site has been calibrated a gainst the gas dial using the equation of state of silver loaded in the DAC .
