A precision adsorption technique was used to study the porous structure of
the surface of rolled titanium. Isotherms of adsorption of krypton and wate
r on the surface of rolled titanium before and after mechanical treatment a
nd after treatment with hydrogen at elevated temperature and pressure were
measured. The relationship between the structure of the disrupted surface l
ayer and conditions of its formation were revealed.
