Abstract
Tetra-18-crown-6-substituted phthalocyanine H-2(18C6)(4)Pc (18C6 = 18-crown -6) and its complex with Zn(II) were derived from dicyanobenzo-18-crown-6 a nd zinc(II) acetate by template synthesis in a melt. The copper complex Cu[ (18C6)(4)Pc] was isolated as a by-product in the synthesis of dicyano-18-cr own-6. The compounds were purified on a column with Al2O3 and characterized by IR, electronic, and H-1 NMR spectroscopies. The Zn[(18C6)(4)Pc] complex , obtained for the first time, was found to be water-soluble.
