Abstract
A description of Longidorus artemisiae sp. n., a bisexual species associate d with Artemisia sp. near Starocherkassk, Rostov region, South part of Euro pean Russia is provided. The new species is characterised by its medium bod y length (4.7-6.6 mm), Lip region anteriorly flattened, set-off from the re st of the body by a slight depression, pocket-shaped amphidial pouch, odont ostyle 84-98 mu m and tail conical with bluntly rounded tip. Males are pres ent in the population in the ratio 1:1 and have short spicules 39-49 mu m. Canonical discriminant analysis distinguished this new species from populat ions of L. elongatus and L. attenuatus.
