Adults and immatures of Novonothrus kethleyi spec, nov. are described. Thes
e Oribatid specimens originate from a forest litter sample collected in Chi
le. The mite is distinguished from all congeneric species by a trilobed pos
terior notogastral margin, monodactylous legs, short, broad and distally ro
unded posterior notogastral setae, and a thick, scale-like seta it' on tars
i II-IV in the adults.
