Abstract
The aims of ''Visualization in Parallel'' (Vipar) project is to produc e a comprehensive environment for the development of parallel visualiz ation modules in systems such as the Application Visualization System (AVS), Iris Explorer, IBM Data Explorer(DX) and Khoros. This paper pre sents an overview of the project and describes the libraries developed to support the first phase of the work which is a tool to describe pa rallel visualization modules. This work is funded as part of the EPSRC project (GR/K40390) Portable Software Tools for Parallel Architecture s (PSTPA).
