Abstract
Occasionally early definitive repair of congenital heart disease carries pr ohibitive mortality, and interval pulmonary artery banding is necessary to protect the pulmonary arterial bed and improve systemic perfusion or prepar e a systemic left ventricle for a later arterial switch operation. We descr ibe our technique for effectively banding the pulmonary artery. (C) 1999 by The Society of Thoracic Surgeons.
