Structural study carried out in southern mid Tunisian Atlas and other regio
ns of Tunisia lead to suggest a structural pattern of horts, grabens and ti
lted blocs for the Tunisian palaeo-margin during the Cretaceous period. The
se tectonic structures are generated by different regimes. Then, during the
Aptian and Albian period, the regime: is left strike slipping, indicated b
y E-W sinistral strike slip faults and NE-SW normal faults. During the Turo
nian-Campanian period. it is right transtensif with ENE-WSW extension, char
acterized by N120 dextral strike slip faults and N160 normal faults. Thr ki
nematics are in accordance with the sinistral relative plate movement betwe
en Africa and Eurasia during Aptian-Albian and anti-clockwise movement of A
pulia during Turonian-Campanian period.
