Abstract
The sorption and decontamination of carrier-free radioactive cations is stu died on montmorillonite, illite and Hungarian soils. Carrier-free isotopes are desorbed from clay minerals and soils if they form stable with complexe s EDTA. The quantity of complex-forming agent needed for decontamination de pends on the total amount of complex-forming cations in the solution. The i sotopes which do not form stable complexes are difficult to desorb. (C) 199 9 Elsevier Science B.V. All rights reserved.
