Metallogenic zones adjacent to the boundaries of magablocks - collision zon
es of Karelian age - have been revealed by generalizing materials on occurr
ences and placers of gold on the Aldan Shield. The collision zones have a s
pecific heterogeneous structure and are characterized by deep origin and lo
ng subsequent evolution. They were repeatedly activated in the Late Protero
zoic, Paleozoic, and Mesozoic-Cenozoic. Ore regions within the megablocks i
nherit more ancient heterogeneities related to Archean-Early Proterozoic ac
cretionary processes. The authors substantiate the prospects for types of g
old mineralization nontraditional far the Aldan gold-bearing province.
