The presence of right ventricular dysfunction in patients with acute myocar dial infarction hers important implications. If is a marker for inhospital mortality and failure to recognize if may lead to inappropriate treatment w ith serious consequences for the patient. patients surviving the acute even t do, however, have a relatively good long-term prognosis.
