Abstract
This paper presents the real-time implementation of the conjugate structure -algebraic CELP(CS-ACELP) speech coder which has been chosen as 8kb/s speec h coder standard(G.729) by ITU-T The algorithm delivers high speech quality under most of operating conditions. The principles of the G.729 algorithm and the real-rime implementation of the algorithm on a 16-bit fixed point D SP chip are addressed. This paper also discusses the DSP H/W module design for speech coders in infra sub-system and subscriber unit within CDMA IMT-2 000 test-bed system.
