Abstract
In this paper we describe a simple and efficient DNA extraction protocol fo r Fragaria species, highly recalcitrant genus due to the large amount of po lyphenols and polymeric carbohydrates present in strawberry tissues. The pr otocol yields a high quality DNA that can be amplified by polymerase chain reaction and digested with restriction endonucleases.
