Abstract
The basolateral Na/K/2CI cotransporter mRNA (rNKCC1) increased when the cul tured kidney inner medullary collecting duct (IMCD) cells of rats were expo sed to vasopressin (10(-8) M) and/or hypertonicity (500 mOsm/kgH(2)O), Howe ver, only hypertonicity was effective in increasing the expression of rNKCC 1 protein.
