Abstract
A new facility at the Advanced Light Source, Lawrence Berkeley National Lab oratory, for high resolution magnetic spectroscopy is described. Scheduled to begin operation by the end of 1998, Beamline 4.0.1-2 has an elliptically polarizing undulator (EPU) and a high resolution monochromator, covering t he energy range from 90 to 2000 eV. Calculated performance of the undulator and monochromator are presented, including the estimated photon flux from the undulator and the expected spectral resolution of the monochromator.
