Abstract
We introduce an 'inverse ferrofluid' comprising sterically stabilized, coll oidal silica spheres and oleic acid stabilized magnetite particles. The pre paration is described as well as magnetisation measurements which turns out to be a linear function of the silica volume fraction. (C) 1999 Elsevier S cience B.V. All rights reserved.
