Abstract
We report on a Faraday experiment with magnetic fluid in a DC magnetic fiel d, which is driven externally by accelerative modulation. A novel pattern o f standing twin peaks is found. It has its origin in the simultaneous excit ation of two different wave numbers in the non-monotonic regime of the disp ersion relation. (C) 1999 Elsevier Science B.V. All rights reserved.
