Abstract
The role of adsorption/desorption kinetics in chromatographic band bro adening was first addressed by Giddings in his earliest theoretical wo rk. Relaxation methods (pressure-jump and temperature-jump) have been adapted to directly measure rates of solute sorption/desorption at rev ersed-phase chromatographic interfaces.
