Resonant photoemission experiments in the Mn 2p3d excitation region of NiAs
-type MnTe have been performed. The Mn 3d, 3p and 3s photoemission intensit
ies hale shown remarkable resonant enhancements near the hin 2p-3d threshol
d. Their resonant behaviors are compared with the theoretical spectra on th
e basis of a cluster model taking account of intraaomic multipole interacti
ons for the Mn 3d-3d and 3d-core hole orbitals, and the hybridization betwe
en the Mn 3d and ligand p-orbitals. Calculated spectra are in qualitative a
greement with experimental results except for a broad structure around 20 e
V below the valence-hand maximum.
