Reduction of CO2 with hydrocarbons such as CH4 or C6H5CH3 producing syngas
was investigated over various supported metal catalysts under atmospheric p
ressure. In general, Ni/SiO2 and Rh/Al2O3 catalysts were found to be excell
ent in activity and selectivity. The reaction rates were moderately depende
nt on the pressure of carbon dioxide, whereas they were little influenced b
y the pressure of hydrocarbon.
