A theoretical study of a He-Kr (KrII 469.4 nm) laser pumped by a helical ho
llow cathode discharge is made. A detailed kinetic model of plasmachemical
reactions and radiative processes including the influence of the gas heatin
g on the active medium is developed. Laser characteristics behavior with th
e pumping, active medium parameters and geometry of the coil hollow cathode
, are investigated. The results of the numerical calculations are in good a
greement with the experimental data.
