Fruit bodies of mushrooms provide a steady habitat for yeasts in forest eco
systems. In general number of yeasts decomposing the fruit bodies is higher
then in forest Litter. Also seasonal fluctuations in number of yeasts take
place depending on moisture content in liner. Taxonomic structure of basid
iomycetous yeasts in fruit bodies and liner is approximately the same, whil
e ascomycetous yeasts are more commonly found in the old fruit bodies alrea
dy partially decomposed by insect larvae. Macromycetes contribute remarkabl
y to the structure of litter microbial complexes by bringing yeasts that ha
d developed in those fruit bodies.
