Abstract
insulin-dependent diabetes mellitus and multiple sclerosis are thought to s tem from autoimmunological processes. We describe a 14 year old female adol escent, in whom both diseases manifested almost at the same time; Discussion: The etiology of both diseases is not yet clarified. However, in our case this tight temporal coincidence points to a preceeding virus infe ction as a common pathologic factor in addition to a genetic predisposition .
