Abstract
From the pro-inflammatory active extract of Euphorbia peplus, a new diterpe
ne polyester (1) based on the jatrophane skeleton was isolated together wit
h the known compounds 2-5. The irritant activities of some jatrophane diter
penes (2, 3 and 6-9) were also investigated: only compound 2 was found to e
xert a weak pro-inflammatory activity on mouse ear. (C) 1999 Elsevier Scien
