Abstract
New dynamic equations are proposed for a rigid body, without using local pa rametrization of the rotation group to describe the rotational part of the motion. A simple system of differential-algebraic equations, well suited fo r constructing the equations of motion of articulated bodies, is obtained. (C) 1999 Elsevier Science Ltd. All rights reserved.
