Abstract
We report a case of acute onset of dermatomyositis with rhabdomyolysis and myoglobinuria, which presented in the 14(th) week of pregnancy and resulted in spontaneous abortion of the fetus. The diagnostic work up for an underl ying disease was negative and the histologic examination confirmed the diag nosis of dermatomyositis, which subsequently improved with corticosteroids.
