Low temperature specific heat measurements of YbHx, cubic hydride phase are
reported and interpreted in the model of the intermediate valence system w
ith ground state consisting of two narrow quasiparticle bands located at th
e Fermi level. The band width and the gap values obtained are a function of
the hydrogen concentration and they reproduce well the shape of the broad
hump observed around 4 K in the temperature dependence of the specific heat
