Abstract
Nonrandomized multicenter trials currently are assessing the safety and eff icacy of endovascular repair for abdominal aortic aneurysms. Early data sho w favorable short-term results compared with standard operations. Long-term follow-up studies will test the durability of endovascular procedures, whi ch may be affected by morphologic changes in the aorta after endovascular r epair. Although several studies have already been published, more research is needed to determine the clinical repercussions of late endoleaks and dev ice deformation related to slow alterations in aortic morphology.
