Abstract
Balloon angioplasty with or without stenting has become increasingly popula r for the management of arterial occlusive disease. This article reviews th e indications, techniques, and published results of these methods when appl ied to the iliac arteries. Particular attention is given to the rationale a nd evidence for primary stent placement as an adjunct to balloon angioplast y.
