Abstract
Benzyl and allyl halides react stereoselectively with imines under carbon m onoxide pressure in the presence of a catalytic amount of bis(triphenylphos phine)palladium(II) chloride together with triethylamine to afford the corr esponding beta-lactams in good yields.
