G. Ruani et al., Photoinduced charge transfer in complex architectured films of C-60 and donor-like molecules, SYNTH METAL, 103(1-3), 1999, pp. 2392-2394
Multilayers and co-evaporated films of C-60 and donor-like molecules as alp
ha-sexithiophene (T6) and Me-Phthalocyanine (MePC) have been deposited in U
HV by means of molecular beam deposition (O-MBD). The photogeneration of ch
arge transfer states have been investigated by means of photoinduced absorp
tion, photoluminescence and photoconductivity measurements in the framework
of possible developments of these systems both as photovoltaic devices and
as optical limiting. In the case of MePC the peculiar matching of the chem
ical potentials of the two molecules (C-60 and MePC) give rice to a weak ch
arge transfer in the N.I.R. observable also as a new absorption at about 1
eV.
