Abstract
We are investigating the photophysics of a conjugated, red emitting molecul e (RS-19) as a guest in a blue emitting laddertype poly(para-phenylene) mat rix (mLPPP) by means of steady state and cross-correlation fluorescence spe ctroscopy. We observe a very efficient excitation energy transfer from mLPP P to RS-19. Through varying the concentration of the red emitter in the hos t, we demonstrate changes in quantum yields (QY), energy transfer efficienc ies (ETE), and decay times of the photo-generated species. The observed int ernal color conversion can be exploited in white light emitting diodes.
