Abstract
We study the optical electric field distribution inside heterojunction phot ovoltaic devices. The generation of excitons and thereby the charge generat ion is directly dependent of the exciting optical electric field. From calc ulations of the internal optical electric field distribution we can derive an optimized geometrical structure with respect to the efficiency of this t ype of devices.
