Abstract
Anew light emitting (LED) polymer (POOXPV) with oxadiazole unit has been pr epared, and characterized by UV-visible and photoluminescmce (PL) spectrosc opy. This polymer is soluble in common organic solvents and has; good therm al stability up to ca 400 degrees C. The UV absorption and PL emission maxi ma were 360 nm and about 500 nm, respectively. In order to investigate elec tron transporting property, the polymer was blended with poly[2-methoxy-5-( 2-ethylhexyloxy)-1,4-phenylenevinylene] (MEH-PPV). The device showed bright orange-red color and enhanced EL power relative to that of MEH-PPV.
