Polyaniline / anionic-polymer composites are important for battery applicat
ions due to the cation-exchanging property. Electroactive poly-aniline-2-su
lfonic acid (poly-ASA) was used instead of conventional electroinactive sul
fonated polymer. Polyaniline / poly-ASA composite was prepared by electroch
emical dopant exchange. The redox charge of resulting composite increased u
p to 120 % of the initial value and the specific capacity was determined to
be 117 Ah/kg. The use of poly-aniline-2,5-disulfonic acid as an electroact
ive anionic polymer was also attempted.
