Abstract
We present photophysical properties, like spectral line-shape and site sele ctivity of photoluminescence (PL) PL quantum yields and Optically Detected Magnetic Resonance (ODMR) responses of bulk poly(para-phenylenevinylene) fi lms and isolated PPV chains incorporated into a self-assembled matrix order ed at a nanometer scale. The ordering is a result of the lyotropic liquid-c rystalline character of the matrix material, which leads to the formation o f a regular hexagonal array of channels with a diameter of about 15 Angstro m, in which the conjugated polymer chains are contained. The structure of t he nanocomposite is confirmed by X-ray diffraction analysis.
